Fly Fishing Guide Jobs

Find your dream job in the fly fishing industry with Fly Fishing the Smokies. We have year around guiding work on some of the finest rivers and streams in the south. We are always looking to expand our business and add more guides to our staff of professionals.

Year Around Work

We are looking for highly motivated guides with a strong work ethic who aren’t afraid to jump in with both hands and get the job done. Our staff works long days and hours, guiding multiple trips per guide per day! We are fortunate enough in the Great Smoky Mountains region to have the longest guiding season of anywhere in the country. Its year around!

Having great people skills is a must. We guide families with children often. Being able to conduct yourself in a professional manner and work with children is a must. Guides need to be engaging in conversation and be entertaining. Teaching people to fly fish and putting them on fish is one thing, being a fun person to be around is totally another. Having a professional groomed appearance is also must!

Attending a professional guide school is preferred, but not always required. Schools we hire from include Sweetwater Travel Guide School, Hubbards Guide School, WorldCast Anglers, and Vail Valley Anglers Guide School.

Benefits and Insurance

Fly Fishing the Smokies is one of very few outfitters in the country to offer their guides benefit packages. You can choose from several options for insurance, including coverage types and amounts. We go to great lengths in taking care of our employees and their well being. We also work with a local gym and have group discounts for gym memberships available for our guides. Staying healthy and fit means everything in the outdoor industry!
